Her picture on my phone, so many years ago. Loved her way back then, in my heart again. Far too long alone, she lives inside my soul. Memories haven’t changed, feelings still the same. Still, remembering the pain, how does love remain?

Trying to forget you, wipe my memory clean. Take it far away. Out to sea, drop it in. I begin. Restoring my sanity. Reaching stability. Another chapter, lesson learned. Memories of her, successfully interred.

Perplexed, flummoxed, confused and bewildered. Disjointed, disillusioned, dismayed and rejected. Mind numbing mania, brain is infected. Interesting but true. I’ll be five separate people, before this day is through.

Words are free. Talk is cheap. Only actions matter to me. I try to ignore, I don’t care to see. I refuse to watch her abandoning me. Taking my heart, piece at a time. Without any warning, reason or rhyme.

Her words. Always this, once again. She begins. Boring story, I’ve heard before. Probably one thousand fifty five times, or more. It’s getting old. Close the door. Bye, don’t care much anymore.

Open eyes, delightful surprise. Beautiful sunrise, bright blue skies. Contrasting from yesterday’s cold and gray. Today could be the day. Dreams come true, nightmares fade. Forget pain, plans made.

Three nights in, begin. Quarter past, at last. Destination reached, has been preached. Absolutely understandable. Truth unreachable. Lessons learned, bridges burned. Sanity returned.

Memories, left at the doorstep. Dreams, shipped on a spaceship. Forgetting things, how we met. Fateful trip. Love slips. I expect it, from the very first kiss.

Racing sideways down the trail, no time to waste. Get there quick, pick your stick. The fire is perfect, for our task. Finally snack time, here at last. Marshmallows roasting, laughter ringing. Soon, we will commence the singing.

Your wicked ways are mundane. Boring and tiring by the way. Take your stress and anxiety. Go away. Forever or even a day. I am not impressed. You have no say. I smile and laugh, I’ll enjoy this day.
